Spice Market

My friend, B, told me about this cool place in NYC at lunch today. (B is a fellow g’villean who spends every other week in NYC). The way he described it resembled the Japanese style “eating booths” or whatever they’re called. So you go in, eat your food behind the curtains and exit in the [...]

the result…

the pad thai didn’t turn out restaurant style, but good, nonetheless. I was surprised to learn that the millers were big jap anime fans. We ended up watching My Neighbors the Yamadas. Very funny.

dig in

Cass introduced me to this food blog. If you’re craving something Peranakan or Malaysian and there isn’t a Penang restaurant near you, you might like to make some for yourself (and friends). ML & PJ, maybe you guys can try it in Australia!

spicy peanut soup

I was over at my bosses’ house this evening. Really cool house. I love the colors and the interiors. They have a lot of fun art pieces in the house. We had some olives, goat cheese with flatbread as appetizer. The highlight was the spicy peanut soup that Jim & Anne made. It was good [...]

drunken chicken

I got a surprise package from a friend and this cookbook was one of the things that came along with some other things. It’s the CWA cookbook. The recipes were contributed by lots of tai tais. Pretty pictures with succint recipes. Kind of nice. Anything long-winded would be a chore to read.
This is one chinese [...]
